Comme pour les prodiges de la musique, il y a quelques personnes qui semblent avoir une propension naturelle \u00e0 la ma\u00eetrise de l&rsquo;esprit et des comp\u00e9tences de l&rsquo;EM.\u00a0 Pour la plupart des apprenants, le d\u00e9veloppement d\u2019une pratique aboutie de l&rsquo;EM requiert d\u2019indiscutables efforts.\u00a0 Les recherches nous indiquent qu&rsquo;un atelier de formation initiale \u00e0 l&rsquo;EM n&rsquo;apporte g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement que des changements limit\u00e9s \u00e0 court terme dans la pratique, bien qu&rsquo;il puisse servir d\u2019une bonne base pour d\u00e9velopper les diff\u00e9rentes comp\u00e9tences au fil du temps.\u00a0 Ces \u00e9tudes nous mettent \u00e9galement en garde contre le fait que les apprenants novices pourraient facilement acqu\u00e9rir une sorte de confiance erron\u00e9e les laissant penser qu&rsquo;ils sont d\u00e9j\u00e0 comp\u00e9tents en mati\u00e8re d&rsquo;EM.\u00a0 C\u2019est en s\u2019exer\u00e7ant r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement \u00e0 la pratique de l\u2019entretien motivationnel et en exp\u00e9rimentant consciemment les comportements qui y sont li\u00e9s que l\u2019on gagne en comp\u00e9tence dans ce domaine.\u00a0 M\u00eame pour ceux qui ont un talent naturel pour cette m\u00e9thode, rien ne peut remplacer la valeur d&rsquo;une pratique coh\u00e9rente et engag\u00e9e et un feed-back par d\u2019autres \u00e0 partir de l&rsquo;observation directe de la pratique.<\/p>\n<p>Pour les apprenants chanceux, ce d\u00e9veloppement continu des comp\u00e9tences peut \u00eatre aid\u00e9 par un mentor, un enseignant ou un consultant pour guider la ma\u00eetrise successive.\u00a0 Pour d\u2019autres, ces conseils d&rsquo;experts ne sont pas toujours imm\u00e9diatement disponibles, m\u00eame si le besoin est \u00e9vident.\u00a0 Avec ou sans expert, un guide d&rsquo;apprentissage bien \u00e9crit pour une pratique engag\u00e9e peut \u00eatre d\u2019une valeur inestimable, et parfois il se suffira \u00e0 lui-m\u00eame.\u00a0 Un tel guide peut \u00e9galement \u00eatre utilis\u00e9 par des groupes de pairs travaillant ensemble pour renforcer leurs comp\u00e9tences.<\/p>\n<p>Pour ces raisons, nous sommes heureux de d\u00e9couvrir ce nouveau Guide d&rsquo;apprentissage de l&rsquo;EM \u00e9crit par Pascal Gache et Glori Cavalli Euvrard.\u00a0 Ces cliniciens ont \u00e9labor\u00e9 un guide d&rsquo;apprentissage m\u00e9thodique qui explique en profondeur les concepts de l&rsquo;EM, en les vivifiant \u00e0 l&rsquo;aide de diagrammes, d&rsquo;exercices de r\u00e9flexions et de possibilit\u00e9s de mise en pratique qui d\u00e9coulent des principes de l&rsquo;apprentissage des adultes. Sophisticated in its approach, this book will be welcome to thoughtful helpers who want to increase their MI skills in a careful, straightforward and incremental manner.\u00a0 Their learning outline is loaded with metaphors, compelling learning tip sheets on each topic, and exercises to practice both alone and with others.\u00a0 The authors have provided a glossary of terms, examples of consent forms for recording speakers, and clinical materials for use in sessions.<\/p>\n<p>Just as important as the hands-on value of this MI Learning Guide is the solid science base that is offered to support it.\u00a0 For example, cautionary research on the use of a decisional balance exercise is included and the value of addressing both change and sustain talk is here.\u00a0 MI is not presented as the only approach to be used nor as a panacea that will work for every person in every circumstance.\u00a0 This kind of measured and conscientious approach to describing MI is welcome in a learning guide for beginners in this method.<\/p>\n<p>Something else that I have witnessed over the years is that learning MI, while challenging, can change a person.\u00a0 I have heard many first-hand accounts of this kind.\u00a0 Learning and practicing this method may change the nature of your interactions with clients, students, and acquaintances.\u00a0 There are learners who have changed jobs so that they could practice MI with more freedom.\u00a0 They have come to appreciate the life energy that they formerly dismissed as \u201cresistance,\u201d and have found ways to funnel the spirit of this method into their private lives.\u00a0 It is doing MI that you learn it, rather than the other way around.\u00a0 Transformation of practice can happen through one concrete, specific change after another in the right direction.\u00a0 It is a natural feedback loop that allows learning to develop into expertise.\u00a0 I hope you enjoy this learning guide that offers such concrete and specific changes which may transform your work.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: right;\"><strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: right;\"><strong>William R.
